In the world of digital transformation system-integration plays a critical role, enterprises moving their applications to the cloud and business continuously looking for new ways of achieving competitive advantages. To cope with the ever-changing ecosystem, there has been a need for integration solutions which are built on the cloud (Software as a Service – SaaS) model, and that are capable of fulfilling business integration requirements for both SaaS and on-premise applications. These integration platforms or tools are called iPaas (Integration Platform as a Service).
What is iPaas?
In simple terms, iPaaS is a platform for building and deploying integrations within the cloud and between the cloud and enterprise. With iPaaS, we can develop integration flows that connect applications residing in the cloud or on-premises and then deploy them without installing or managing any hardware or middleware.
There are numerous vendors providing iPaas solutions including Rojo Consultancy, as well as our partners SAP, Dell, and Snaplogic. This article will focus on the iPaas solution provided by Dell which is Dell Boomi. In this article, I will talk about the basics of Dell Boomi and how Dell Boomi can fit into your landscape.
